BES - What is the POWERpackTrans?

Last Updated: Jun 25, 2013 03:14PM UTC
The POWERpackTrans is the RMP (Right-Most-Program) of any message channel. It is the last transformer to process an event before sending it as an ‘alert’ to the AlertServer. It is a compiled REXX program that is automatically inserted into all Message Channels. If there are any other transformers in the channel, POWERpackTrans is always placed last. It connects to the AlertServer process, sending events that will become alerts depending on any corresponding SMARTView rules.
POWERpackTrans performs SMARTView rule processing, enrichment, suppression and SMARTEvm processing. Once it has performed these processes it sends the ‘processed alert’ to AlertServer.

The POWERpackTrans is configurable via $PPHOME/cfg/POWERpackTrans.cfg and POWERpackTrans_<MC>.cfg.
