BES - LDAP user connected as Read-Only : License Exceeded

Last Updated: Jul 07, 2014 12:26PM UTC

Problem

When BES is configured to use LDAP for authenticating users a new user is dynamically created in BES when the user first logs into BES. When the user selects a BES group the properties of that group are inherited and stored for the next time the user logs into that group.

If the group was originally created as a 'Read-Only' group then that property is inherited and stored as detailed above. If the group is then changed to not be a 'Read-Only' group this will not change the stored inherited attribute the user had previously.

Solution

The workaround is to simply delete the user in question via the BSD Admin Interface so the next time the user logs into that group the latest settings will be inherited and stored.
