Can the ISSFileTidy be scheduled at different time than midnight?
Yes. You can schedule the ISSFileTidy to run at any time by simply editing the crontab entry and defining the schedule for it to run. In fact we have a few customers who have opted to do just that and have the execution scheduled at a specific time of the day other than midnight every day. There is also no reason why it should run daily and the schedule can be adjusted to accommodate your needs. The only think to bear in mind is that it can not be less than a day as it uses the day name within it's directory structure and filename tar ball so running more than once a day would overwrite the data for the previous run(s) that day.
- ISSFileTidy should not be scheduled to run more than once a day. This is because it uses the day name within it's archive directory structure and subsequent compressed tar ball so running more than once a day would overwrite the data for the previous run(s) that day.
- By delaying execution between runs for a significant length of time could cause the filesystem in which the logs are stored to become to full which would have a serious impact on the overall running of BES.
