BES - Maintenance Management User Access Rights

Last Updated: Sep 22, 2015 09:34AM UTC
Defining of user access rights for Maintenance Management is not available by the Business Service Dashboard Admin Console. User ppadmin and any user that is defined as a Business Enterprise Server user with a supervisor role can start and stop maintenance records. All other users and the user groups to which a user subscribes must be defined by modifying the ISS_MT_Users_Table. Any user and the user group to which the user subscribes can stop or change records that the user has started through the Maintenance Management Generator.

You modify the ISS_MT_Users_Table using a command line tool that provides sql access
to the table. Only user ppadmin has access to the ISS_MT_Users Table. For example, if you want to add a user group and a user to the table when the underlying database is Sybase ASE, the sql command is as follows:

Insert into ISS_MT_Users_Table Values ("group_name","user_name")

or postgres: insert into iss_mt_users_table values ('GuestGroup','opsview')

To remove an entry from the same table when the underlying database is Sybase ASE, the
sql command is as follows:

Delete ISS_MT_Users_Table Where GroupName = "group_name" and UserName =
"user_name"

Where group_name is the name of a user group and user_name is the name of a user.
