BES - DB error : besdb pg_catalog pg_shdepend

Last Updated: Aug 02, 2018 02:18PM UTC
Problem

Error ocurring in database

pg_shdepend - "Unlike most system catalogs, pg_shdepend is shared across all databases of a cluster: there is only one copy of pg_shdepend per cluster, not one per database."

Error

Findings in cleanDbSpace_Log -

"opbridgebes01.int-link.com(ppadmin)$ dbCheck @lastvac
POSTGRES_LAST_VACUUM CRITICAL: "besdb" DB: besdb TABLE: pg_catalog.pg_shdepend: 12:20 July 28, 2018 (5 days 2 hours 18 minutes)
"

Solution

To fix this do the following ->

1) SSH to where database is located
2) Login as postgres user
3) Run vacuumdb --full --analyze --verbose besdb
4) This should solve the issue.
5) Then back on BES you should see an alert such as -
"opbridgebes01.int-link.com(ppadmin)$ dbCheck @lastvac
POSTGRES_LAST_VACUUM OK: "besdb"  DB: besdb TABLE: public.iss_pp_eventtype_table: 20:00 August 01, 2018 (18 hours 44 minutes) "

This should allow you to take corrective actions.
