Channels restarting at 07:00 everyday

Colin Keeley May 15, 2015 11:48AM UTC

Everyday this week at 07:00 exactly we have had at least one channel (on Sunday it was 18) fail with a Syntax 44 error (example output as follows).

20150510 07:00:00 POWERpackTrans:(piNonStop_LPROD1) 07:00:00.263212 000000000 Send data to Evm
20150510 07:00:00 POWERpackTrans:(piNonStop_LPROD1) 07:00:00.270716 000000000 Obtain results from Evm
20150510 07:00:00 POWERpackTrans:(piNonStop_LPROD1) 07:00:00.275178 000000000 Evm Processing Complete
20150510 07:00:00 POWERpackTrans:(piNonStop_LPROD1) 07:00:00.275498 000000000 Running POWERpackTrans Exit 2
20150510 07:00:01 POWERpackTrans:(Debden_EMS) Failure: SYNTAX(44)
20150510 07:00:01 POWERpackTrans:(Debden_EMS) Description : Function did not return data
20150510 07:00:01 POWERpackTrans:(Debden_EMS) Source: 653 rc = 'POWERpackTrans_Exit2'(1)
20150510 07:00:01 POWERpackTrans:(Debden_EMS) Group(Log_Files) Rule(adm_messages)
20150510 07:00:01 POWERpackTrans:(Debden_EMS) Terminated DB Connection rc=0
20150510 07:00:01 POWERpackTrans:(Debden_EMS) Attempting Shutdown, notifying ISSEvm
20150510 07:00:01 POWERpackTrans:(Debden_EMS) Notified ISSEvm on socket : 60038

The POWERpackTrans Exit2 program was recently upgraded on our BES servers, however, I am unaware of what the upgrade was and how it would affect channels.

What does a Syntax 44 error represent?

The only scheduled task that runs at the time every day is a program named /usr/nc/VOCA/Execs/, this basically refreshes files in our traps directory in order to keep heartbeat monitoring accurate. Content attached
