Is there any impact in removing the default 'GuestGroup' and 'AllAlertsOnly' groups via BSD?

Is there any impact in removing the default 'GuestGroup' and 'AllAlertsOnly' groups via BSD?

As we integrate with LDAP we will not require these groups and wondered, before removing, whether we would impact anything anywhere?

Regards

Hi,

The ppadmin user will need a group to log in with, even if you are using LDAP. Removing a group that ppadmin can log in with will probably result in you not being able to access the service dashboard as that user.

Thanks

Hi Mathew,

The AllAlertsOnly can be removed but we recommend having a similar group that has the specific feature of displaying all alerts available.
The reason for this is that's it's possible for service impact alerts to disappear down a black hole if the service is deleted from the service model. This means that AlertServer will not serve up the alerts to any other type of BSD client because they are not authorised to view that service and any technology alerts affecting that service.

Just something to be aware of.
