How do I Configure System Alerts?

Hi

When we stop a message channel, the alert received from the system message channel is presented as green (origin severioty of informational). How do I change it so that the originseverity is 'major'?

I've just got this from the BES User Guide (found at https://netnow.jira.com/wiki/display/PUBP/Documentation+Set+3.6)

Modifying System Message Channel Messages to Accommodate User‐Defined Common Alert Format

You use the IssueSysAlert.cfg file to modify the messages that are sent by IssueSysAlert
instigated by Business Enterprise Server modules such as ppmd, AlertServer, User
Programs and the System message channel so that they can fit the common alert format
that you developed for your enterprise environment. The configuration file contains
REXX statements that modify the information that is stored in the common alert format
fields.

An example of a REXX statement that you can use to modify a ppmd message is as
follows:

if OrigObject = ‘10.0.0.161’ then Domain = ‘Interlink’


To Modify the IssueSysAlerts.cfg file

Step 1 On the Business Enterprise Server, open a command window and log in as user
ppadmin.

Step 2 Enter the following command to change to the directory in which the
IssueSysAlerts.cfg file resides.

cd $PPHOME/cfg

Step 3 Using a text editor, open the IssueSysAlert.cfg file and make the appropriate
modifications.

Step 4 Save the text file and close the editor.
