CEF Updates

Paul Marshall Aug 26, 2015 10:39AM UTC

If updating the CEF with a new field, is a full BES restart required for this change to become active or is there a simpler way?

Hi Paul,

Do you mean the CAF fields, if so you use the CAF Editor in SMARTView it will be applied in the background, but it may take a few minutes, It will appear first in SMARTView in the bottom left corner as the CAF version updates.
If you are using SMARTView then in theory the addition should be propagate out to clients via the AlertServer but it's possible there is a bug in the process which we are looking at.

As a short term you can use the following command to force the propagation process:

DBcmd '"insert ISS_ES_Modify_Table values(getdate(),'','',"UpdateTokens"'

All being well a recycle of BES will not be required.

Colin

Can I check the syntax for the above command please.

When in DBcon in entering

insert ISS_ES_Modify_Table values(getdate(),'','',"UpdateTokens"

But receive the error

Msg 102, Level 15, State 1:
Server 'SERVER NAME REMOVED', Line 1:
Incorrect syntax near ','.

Regards

Paul
