SCM Migration

Nick Walton Oct 12, 2017 11:48AM UTC

I'm currently on SCM 1.3.32 on a stand-alone Windows Server 2003 with Oracle.

To get up to date, I'm thinking my best bet is to start with a fresh install on a Windows Server 2016 box with PostgreSQL and then just recreate my imports/exports/enrichment policies.

Does that sound like a sensible plan or is there a better way?

Hi Nick

I have spoken to to our SCM developers and they seem happy with your plan as long as your are starting from scratch. We have tested SCM 1.4 to work on Windows Server 2016 but SCM 1.3 has not been tested. I assume that you will be upgrading to SCM 1.4 in due course?

If you need anything else, let me know

Thanks
Harry

Hi Nick

This seems to me like a good idea however I would like to talk to our experienced SCM developer to make sure that we don't hit any problems should you decide to go ahead with this.

Thanks
Harry
